Three contractors named on £300m housing framework

Bouygues, Laing O’Rourke and Wates will deliver new-build and regeneration schemes in and around London for client Metropolitan Housing Trust.

The successful firms fought off 10 other bidders for the First Tier Construction Partner Framework, which will last for four years.

Work under the agreement will contribute to the housing assoication’s target to build 1,000 homes a year.

Metropolitan Housing Trust’s focus is on major regeneration schemes and large social housing developments, predominantly in London.

Among Metropolitan’s other programmes is its ongoing work with partner Barratt London to build 2,000 new homes in the borough of Barnet.

The partnership’s West Hendon estate will comprise a variety of homes for social rent, low-cost homeownership and outright sale.

Last November, Bouygues and Wates both scooped places on the government’s £8bn framework to build new schools in England.

Wates secured places on two lots worth a combined value of £4bn and Bouygues on the framework’s biggest package: the £2.6bn high-value south lot covering projects over £12m.

Among Laing O’Rourke’s recent major wins were contracts worth £130m for the Dubai Expo 2020 project in the Middle East in January.
